Hi University of Bristol, it’s Nabila!

I appreciate you wanting to get to know me. Let me share with you a little bit about myself, why I think we’d work well together, and how I can contribute as a User Experience Designer.

When I was 17, I wanted to teach biology.

I believed that nothing was more important than exploring the world and educating people about it.

Though I didn’t end up studying in a lab coat, I realised that what I actually wanted to do was transform big ideas into journeys that can enrich people’s lives.

That has kept me driven thus far. Whether I’m writing features about renewable energy, taking clients along my design-thinking process, or translating user data into journeys and flows - the nuances of communication and design excites me!

How I work

I use design-thinking.

User research keeps me focused. The iterative method keeps me humble and determined. Perfection is a myth; my goal is to deliver better products.

I am explorative.

Give me user insights and I’m like a kid in a candy store. I enjoy learning surprising things about people. It challenges me to define unexpected opportunities.

I am collaborative.

As a former clarinetist in a band, I crave creative comradery. I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with my teammates, trusting that we can all contribute something valuable to the table.

My skills

Here are some highlights from wearing several hats at Erasmus University Rotterdam (as Communication Specialist, Graduate Programme Manager and, most recently, Marketing Executive).

Content strategy

I built robust information architecture and optimised interaction design to store and categorise 80k digital assets.

Writing

I transformed several complex discussions about renewable energy into unintimidating white papers, features, and digital content.

Brand management

I developed brand guidelines that were used by over 3,600 employees. I worked closely with designers, external vendors, and internal clients to uphold this.

User research

I conducted market and user research to inform marketing and branding decisions. Methods include A/B tests, surveys, focus groups, interviews, and subject matter expert interviews.

My UX case studies

Check out my UX passion projects and client work where I define opportunities, optimise content strategy, test interaction design details, and iterate solutions to deliver minimum lovable products.
