Hi Cambridge University Press & Assessments, it’s Nabila!
I appreciate you wanting to get to know me. Let me share with you a little bit about myself, why I think we’d work well together, and how I can contribute as a UX Designer.
When I was 17, I wanted to teach.
I believed that nothing was more important than education and nurturing the potential of young people.
Though I didn’t end up standing in front of a classroom, I’ve found purpose working in the education sector in a more digital capacity.
Whether I’m facilitating design-thinking workshops, translating user data into journeys and flows, or building research plans - my mission is to make the learning experience more accessible to all!
How I work
I use design-thinking.
User research keeps me focused. The iterative method keeps me humble and determined. Perfection is a myth; my goal is to deliver better experiences.
I am explorative.
Give me user data and I’m like a kid in a candy store. I enjoy learning surprising things about people. It challenges me to define unexpected opportunities.
I am collaborative.
As a former clarinetist in a band, I crave creative comradery. I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with my teammates, trusting that we can all contribute something valuable to the table.
My skills
From my past lives in communications and branding to my current role in UX design, here are some of my relevant skills:
UX and research strategy
Setting the right research objectives is how I ensure our strategy can help us deliver user-centered experiences. Triangulation is my preferred way of approaching a research plan.
Conducting user research
From generative to validation methods, qualitative and quantitative, I am confident in conducting an array of moderated and unmoderated methods, including: interviews, usability tests, surveys, a/b tests, card sort, and my favorite - guerilla testing.
Workshop facilitation
From design crits to problem framing workshops, I support my team by facilitating workshops - because 5, 10, and sometimes 20 heads are better than one!
Mentorship
I’ve been a mentor for aspiring UXers on ADPList since October 2022. I’ve also mentored colleagues at the University who are interested in pursuing secondments in UX and Product.
My UX case studies
